This week’s crochet ideas you can't miss…
Selva sweater.
This garment has such beautiful short-rows and mock ribbing! I love how elegant and feminine it is. Another great thing about the clever construction is there’s no need to sew around the shoulders! That’ll save you a lot of hassle.
Delicious donuts on a giant scale.
Aren’t these just adorable?
You can customize your huge donut to mimic the different base, icing, and sprinkle colors you see on the real thing. Almost good enough to eat.
Carolina cuteness.
Such a perfect, breezy top perfect for summer. It’s a wrap top with flouncy, short sleeves, a deep V-neck, and a ruffled tie at the back or side.
Olivia.
This simple, open cardigan is good for cooler weather, but if you make it in plant fibers, it’ll be great for summer too.
It's designed with beginners in mind as the stitches are simple, and you don’t have to do much seaming at all.

A nesting doll straight out of a fairy tale.
This is what designer Lydia from Lalylala says about this adorable nesting toy:
“In the blink of an eye, the little caterpillar slips into the apple, the delicious apple disappears into Little Red Riding Hood and Little Red Riding Hood, well ... uhm, well ... is swallowed by the wolf. Or not after all? It was all just fun: Little Red Riding Hood is quickly freed again, the wolf apologizes courteously, everyone shares the delicious apple, and the story is ending happily ever after.”
Terrific texture.
So many textures in this delightful blanket! You’ll never grow tired of looking at the stitch designs, snuggling up in it, or of course, while you’re making it.
And there are nine sizes to choose from, so you can customize it to your liking.
The Maelle cardigan.
This size-inclusive, three-color cardigan has bulky stitches for a modern yet rustic look. I love how the designer has included photos of other people who’ve also crocheted it wearing theirs. Gives you a great sense of how it looks!
Poppin’ pineapple.
A gorgeous open weave top using the pineapple stitch for added flair! Wear it over a tank in the warmer weather.
Cabled blooms.
The cabled flower motifs in each square look stunning on this blanket. Choose colors to suit your home decor or even one color would look great too!
Bitty boho.
This crocheted bag is just adorable and perfect for the toddlers in your life that love boho chic! It’s quick to do and the suggested yarn is worsted weight.
This could be a chance to use some of your yarn stash.
Fireside toastiness.
The rustic texture of the Alpine stitch creates a perfect cozy sock for cool nights.
Featuring an afterthought heel and simple construction they’ll be a quick project and your feet will thank you!
A play of color and texture.
Designer Aoibhe Ni says that her gorgeous shawl name Ard Rí – or “High King” in Irish is all about color and texture.
Tunisian crochet stitches and colorwork techniques are used in her design. This is sure to impress your friends and you’ll love wearing it.
This week’s insider crochet inspiration…
How to crochet the diamond shaped granny square.
Changing up the shape of the popular granny square is fun and easy to do. Here’s a video tutorial on how to create a diamond instead of the traditional square.
Tips for working with textured yarns.
Textured yarns can add interest and dimension to your crochet projects, but they can be a little tricky to work with.
How are you supposed to stitch when you can't see the stitches?
This guide answers this question and provides some excellent tips on what you can work with these yarns more easily.
The block stitch.
This is a stunning and simple stitch that requires a two-row repeat.
It looks amazing when you change colors every row or you can use a main color with a second color which pops like the option shown in this video.
Demystifying crochet symbols.
I’ve come across designs that use symbols instead of written instructions. I found this article by crochet expert Edie Eckman super helpful.
How to patch jeans with crocheted lace.
This look isn’t for everyone, but I know people who love their ripped jeans. Adding crocheted lace to some sections of ripped jeans adds a bit of flair!
Gobelin stitch.
This Tunisian crochet stitch creates a dense fabric perfect for home decor items like pillow covers, dishcloths, potholders, bags and blankets.
The window puff stitch.
A variation of the puff stitch but with a more open texture. Follow the tutorial.
A bouquet of roses.
Such a work of fiber art! These rose blooms have been created on tiny steel hooks and look amazing!
Crochet a decorative chain with crossover slip stitch.
Like a picot edge, this is a sweet decorative chain that adds that little extra something to the beginning of your project.
Will crochet become even more popular?
Taylor Swift was recently seen in a boho-60s-inspired crocheted dress along with her partner also in a crochet shirt and pants ensemble.
My hope is when crochet is worn by celebrities it inspires people to take up our wonderful craft. Getting them to think about how they can create their own clothing instead of wearing fast fashion.
It’s amazing to see how many people are already offering tutorials on how to recreate the crocheted dress! Here’s one such tutorial by Donna of Nartazia.
Felted fun!
These stop motion felted animations brought a huge smile to my face!
The patience these artists must have first to create the felted items and then create the stop motion videos. All to bring more joy to their audience.
Which stitch goes snap?
A beautiful textured stitch that lends itself to all sorts of projects. The crocodile stitch looks super impressive and is easier than you think!
Hope this issue has inspired your next crochet project!
